@Volksverpetzer nonsense.

Live data says that even right now, Germany is mostly burning coal.

Well this is what I'm seeing right now. Solar power alone surpluses coal, let alone solar plus wind. You're cherry picking yourself (as am I)! 😉
The article also states that the decision to shut down nuclear before coal "hasn't aged very well", i.e., in terms of CO2 emission and dependence on coal (be it German or Russian) shutting down coal power plants before nuclear ones would've been the preferred way to go.
A screenshot from electricitymap.org for Germany, Friday 2022-06-24 at 13 o'clock. Regenerative power is at 60%, solar alone surpluses coal.
@Volksverpetzer you are cherry picking the very highest output from solar, and ignoring the obvious fact that you need to average it across a timeframe longer than 15 minutes.
@Volksverpetzer Germany is, sadly, insane.

You've shut down nuclear, forcing a huge increase in fossil fuel use.

Building too much solar has meant that Germany's grid struggles to maintain stable operation.
@Ian Molton Building too much solar has meant that Germany's grid struggles to maintain stable operation.

That's not true at all..

Solar and Wind energy surplus over days is used to pump water for hydroelectric generation .. which comes in to use at evening and buffers energy usage from between 20:00 to 23:00 o clock......

Solar is not a problem....
